3rd edition | 2023
The 3rd edition of the Arab Women’s Film Festival in Brazil took place from March to May 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Sao Paulo, in partnership with Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil. Through the curatorship of Alia Ayman, Analu Bambirra and Carol Almeida, over 30 films were screened, besides having roundtables, film discussions and masterclasses with the Lebanese director Eliane Raheb, the Syrian director Soudade Kaadan, and the Palestinian director Jumana Manna. In this edition, we also hosted a tribute to the Algerian director Assia Djebar.
2nd edition | 2021
The 2nd edition took place online (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) from May 19th to June 27th 2021, in partnership with Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro. Through the curatorship of Alia Ayman, Analu Bambirra and Carol Almeida, 45 films from 31 directors were screened. We had roundtables, film discussions and a masterclass with the Palestinian director Larissa Sansour. In this edition, we also hosted a tribute to the Tunisian director Moufida Tlatli and to the Lebanese director Jocelyne Saab, besides organizing screening focuses on the Moroccan director Randa Maroufi and the Palestinian director Larissa Sansour.

1st edition | 2019
The 1st edition of the Arab Women’s Film Festival in Brazil took place in Rio de Janeiro from March 07th to March 25th 2019. Through the curatorship of Ana França and Analu Bambirra, 37 films were screened, among feature and short films. Besides screenings, we hosted film discussions, 3 roundtables and a masterclass with the Algerian director Sofia Djama.
